CONCRETE GRINDING – SIDEWALKS
We often hear of residential customers trying to raise concrete sidewalk slabs with bars as a method of concrete repair in NJ. Aside from being dangerous or risky, this never works for any length of time due to not being able to obtain proper support under their concrete slab. If your sidewalk looks like this picture, you may need Concrete Grinding. Many New Jersey homeowners and businesses alike have tried to remove sidewalk lips or trip and fall hazards by concrete patching or cement patching their sidewalk. This is never an acceptable concrete repair solution due to the problem with winter ground frost we experience. The cement patch or cement resurfacing will only last until the ground frost raises the concrete sidewalk slabs. The walkway patch on the sidewalk joint will then delaminate and pop off. This typically leaves the property owner repeatedly patching his or her sidewalk on a yearly basis. This applies to all outdoor concrete including driveway repairs. These NJ sidewalk trip and fall liabilities result in substantial risk and monetary awards from lawsuits. This is extremely important to reduce these liabilities through NJ commercial concrete sidewalk repair. These can result in increased insurance premiums or policy cancellations if you do not raise or grind sunken concrete in NJ.
Concrete grinding or sidewalk cement grinding is one method we offer to remove sidewalk trip hazards typically up to 1 1/2″ in height where sidewalks have been lifted by tree roots, etc. Concrete grinding will remove the top finished layer of cement and leave an exposed aggregate finish where the concrete trip area has been removed, but will also bring your sidewalk trip and fall hazard back into compliance.
We offer both NJ Concrete Jacking or better known as Concrete Raising / Concrete releveling, along with Concrete Grinding throughout our NJ Concrete repair service area as a method to readjust concrete walkway slabs. Both of these options save money over costly concrete replacement. Please contact us to discuss which option is best for you.
